Job Summary:

Connecticut College is conducting a national search for an inspirational leader and natural connector across diverse audiences.  We seek an innovative, driven manager with knowledge of best practices in alumni engagement, board and volunteer development, project implementation and evaluation.  Reporting to the Vice President for College Advancement, the Director manages the Alumni Engagement program and plays a vital role in the development, implementation and successful completion of the College’s current $300 million comprehensive campaign.  The Director provides strategic leadership and direction to the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

The Director of Alumni Engagement will develop and implement a strategic plan to build the College’s relationship with alumni through a wide variety of programs, volunteer opportunities and communications.  Key responsibilities include collaborating with Admissions, Athletics, Career Services, Communications and all academic departments, leading alumni engagement programs for a diverse alumni body in all life stages, expanding print and social media communications and the alumni website, developing an alumni awards program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience in higher education.  Knowledge of best practices in alumni engagement, board and volunteer development, and project implementation and evaluation.  Exceptional oral and written communication skills, and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and alumni/donor databases.  Significant travel necessary to fulfill obligations of the position.
